When you arrive to Porto you may notice how well decorated the city is. Porto is abundant with tiles from churches, train stations, shops and ordinary homes. On this tour you’ll get a local explanation behind the tiles that are carefully picked as the most interesting. Some tiles form billboards other coating patterns. The tiles have an interesting history, where big factories produced and exported tiles worldwide, and on this tour you’ll get a history lesson on it, the production, the different techniques and how important it was for the city. The tour features many different places such as churches, depots, stores, the train-station and on the tour you will find numerous other panels, patterns or friezes tiles, for which we’ll also make a brief explanation of its historical framework. The tour will then finish at the Ribeira square.

My husband and I truly enjoyed learning about Portuguese cuisine and cooking an authentic dish with fresh food that was in season. We would definitely recommend this and do it again!
The meeting point is by Carmo Church tiled facade. Find me there and let’s go for a walk together through the historic center of a Unesco heritage.
